The RVs We Have Had
|
|
|
It all started back in 1988 when we bought a 17 ft trailer.
We went camping in it and I took it with us when we went deer hunting. We had this one for about a year or so.
July 2004 to September 2005, we had a 1995 19 foot Dutchman travel trailer. We took this RV down to Southern California, and visited the Oregon coast lighthouses.
Then in August of 2009, we bought our first brand new RV, It was a 2009 25 foot Rainier travel trailer.
We camped around Washington and Oregon in this one.
Just before I retired, in May of 2011, we traded the Rainier travel trailer in on a 2008 Cameo fifth wheel. It was a little over 32 feet long and since we were planning to go fulltime after retirement, I installed solar on this one. When we sold our house in July of 2012, we moved fulltime into this one. To pull this RV, we bought our first diesel truck. It was a 2007 GMC Sierra 3/4 ton truck. We camped all around Washington state and into Oergon in this one.
After I retired and before we hit the road as fulltime Rvers, we traded Cameo in for a 2009 Bighorn fifth wheel. >BR>

It was over 38 feet long. We also traded trucks and got a 1 ton Silverado dually to pull it. We had this RV from October 2012 to March 2015.This is the rig we hit the road in. During our first year on the road, I traded our red Silverado in for another silverado, a 2014 3500 SWD.

In this RV, We went from Washington down to Arizona, east to Ohio, and down to Texas. Pretty much all the states west of the Mississippi.
While at a rally, March 2015, in Tuscon, AZ, we decided to trade our fifth wheel in for a motorhome. Our Bighorn was having a 'frame flex' problem and we always wondered about what a motorhome had to offer, so we did it. We got a 2008 Fleetwood Southwind 36 foot motorhome, and later got a Jeep to pull behind it.

In December of 2017, after buying a home base in Yuma, AZ, we traded the Southwind motorhome in for a 2018 Thor Hurricane 30 foot motorhome. We also traded our jeep in for a 2017 Nissan Sentra to pull behind it. We regretted this move and didn't keep it very long.
In October 2018, We had an opportunity to pick up a rig from a relative, so we picked up a 2004 Arctic Fox 30 foot fifth wheel and 2005 Silverado 1 ton truck.
Then in November 2019, we sold what we had and went with a class C RV. We found a good buy for a 2001 Fleetwood Tioga 30 foot motorhome.
These were Covid days so we didn't use it that much.
Then I thought maybe smaller was btter, we bought a 2010 Dutchman Sport 25 foot travel trailer and a 2014 Nissan Titan truck to pull it.

We took it from AZ to WA and back, and decided that yep, it was really too small. And we kinda wanted to get out and travel more. We decided to upgrade RV setups and put our Yuma house up for sale and start travelling again fulltime.
We sold our truck and RV and picked up a 2016 prime Time Crusader 32 foot fifth wheel, and a 2015 1 ton Silverado dually truck.
Then in April 2022, we traded the Crusader in for a new 2022 Crossroads Sunset Trails 28 foot travel trailer
. Our plan was to travel one more trip around the US, pick up the eastern seaboard, completing our bucket list of camping in all of the continintial united states before we settled down. After over 10 years on the road, we were ready.
We arrived back in Washington in May of 2023, and bought a house in Yakima, WA in August 2023. We sold our Sunset Trails travel trailer on September 28, 2023. The end of our RV days.
